Hair... again

So it's been about 5-6 months since we decided on 'locking' Pipo's hair. Every week or so I have been retwisting, but it has been fuzzy and loose, and sometimes discouraging to me, as I have put so much time into it. But I can finally say it is looking fully locked. If I let it go a little longer, it's staying pretty tight. I am obnoxiously proud every time someone asks who does his hair, and he points to me!

What gel/product do you use to set the new twist/growth? We have been locking our daughter's hair for almost a year now but it's hard to get to the salon on time for the twist on new growth.

I use Let's Jam extra hold... It really leaves his hair feeling soft too. But lately, I haven't been using anything. He showers, and I put a leave-in conditioner in, then just twist it up. He doesn't like the hair dryer much, so I twist it on a weekend morning when we aren't going anywhere, and then leave the clips in for a couple hours.
